How it Works

The WaterGuru SENSE S2 is a smart device that’s installed on your skimmer with its Sensor dangling in the water in the skimmer basket. The WaterGuru SENSE S2 uses patented optical technology to measure daily the Free Chlorine (FC), acidity (pH), Total Alkalinity (TA), Cyanuric Acid (CYA) and Calcium Hardness (CH)
of your pool water. You can monitor your pool conditions through the WaterGuru app.

If your water chemistry parameters measure too high or too low, Advice will appear in the WaterGuru App to show you how to resolve the problem.

WaterGuru’s Advice is customized to your pool.  The Advice is based on your pool type, i.e. plaster, vinyl, indoor, outdoor, covered, not covered, and pool size as well as the types of chemicals you use to regulate FC and pH.  The Advice in the App will show you what chemicals you need to add to your pool to bring these chemical measurements back to the normal range.

The WaterGuru SENSE S2 measures daily the Free Chlorine (FC), acidity (pH), Total Alkalinity (TA), Cyanuric Acid (CYA) and Calcium Hardness (CH) of your pool water. The SENSE S2 also measures the temperature, and the flow of your pool water.

You can select the daily measurement time based upon your pool’s pump schedule or let the WaterGuru SENSE select the best time based on a pool scan.

Yes.  In the WaterGuru app, select “Measure Now”.  If you are within Bluetooth range of your SENSE device, the measurement will take about 10 minutes.

  • The WaterGuru SENSE is made to be accurate and self-calibrating
  • During each reading the SENSE is calibrated to account for the unique environment of your skimmer at the time of measurement
  • The water exposure time of the proprietary chemistry pads takes a little more than 10 minutes to stabilize the color change in each pad.

If you are not within Bluetooth range of your SENSE device, “Measure Now” will take about 45 minutes.

Note:  Performing additional water measurements will reduce the life of the cassette.

The WaterGuru SENSE C size batteries last for approximately 6 months. Performance may vary based on the brand of batteries used. WaterGuru recommends using Energizer or Duracell brand batteries which we have tested extensively for long life and durability.

WaterGuru SENSE Cassettes hold strips of sensing pads that measure water chemistry parameters. We sell Cassettes for both the SENSE S1 and the new SENSE S2 devices. You can purchase cassettes right here on our website or through the WaterGuru App.

The NEW WaterGuru SENSE S2 C5 Cassette is designed to last 1 month based on daily water measurements.

The NEW WaterGuru SENSE S2 C2 Cassette is designed to last 2 months based on daily water measurements over a 2-month period.

The WaterGuru SENSE S1 Cassette is designed to last 2 months based on daily water measurements over a 2-month period.

Note: Performing additional water measurements will reduce the life of the cassette.

Yes.  In-App push notifications will appear in the WaterGuru App to let you know when your cassette is running low on test pads and when your cassette is out of pads.  Click here to learn more.

Yes. You will need Wi-Fi access at the pool area where the WaterGuru SENSE will be installed.

  • Set up the WaterGuru SENSE while it is placed on the pool skimmer, its intended location of use
  • Download the WaterGuru App from Google Play Store or the Apple App Store
  • The first step of the process is to connect the WaterGuru SENSE to your phone through Bluetooth
  • After you connect the WaterGuru SENSE to Bluetooth, a list of Wi-Fi networks will be displayed with an indication of Wi-Fi strength
  • A list of Wi-Fi Network IDs will be displayed showing bars of signal strength
  • The WaterGuru SENSE works best if your Wi-Fi network ID shows at least 2 bars of Wi-Fi signal strength
  • If the WaterGuru SENSE does not display your Wi-Fi network, then you will need to setup a Wi-Fi range extender which should be located as high as possible in your home.
