The privacy policy for information WaterGuru otherwise collects through the Service is described below.

Information We Collect

When you interact with us through the Service, we may collect Personal Data and other information from you, as further described below:

Personal Data That You Provide Through the Service: We collect Personal Data from you when you voluntarily provide such information, such as when you contact us with inquiries, respond to one of our surveys, register for access to the Service or use particular functions. Wherever WaterGuru collects Personal Data, we make an effort to provide a link to this Privacy Policy.

By voluntarily providing us with Personal Data, you are consenting to our use of it in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you provide Personal Data to the Service, you acknowledge and agree that such Personal Data may be transferred from your current location to the offices and servers of WaterGuru and the authorized third-parties referred to herein located in the United States.

Non-Identifiable Data: When you interact with WaterGuru through the Service, we receive and store personally non-identifiable information. Such information, which is collected using various technologies, cannot presently be used to identify you specifically. WaterGuru may store such information itself, or such information may be included in databases owned and maintained by WaterGuru affiliates, agents or service providers. The Service may use such information and pool it with other information to track aspects of the Service operation. For example, tracked and pooled information may include the total number of visitors to our Site, the number of visitors to each page of our Site, and the domain names of our visitors’ Internet service providers, Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, referring/exit pages, the files viewed on our site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data to analyze trends in the aggregate and administer the site. It is important to note that no Personal Data is available or used in this process.

In operating the Service, we and our marketing and service partner providers may use a technology called “cookies” and other similar technologies. A cookie is a piece of information that the computer that hosts our Service gives to your browser when you access the Service. Our cookies help provide additional functionality to the Service and help us analyze Service usage more accurately, including functions like analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movements around the site and gathering demographic information about our user base as a whole. For instance, our Site may set a cookie on your browser that allows you to access the Service without needing to remember and then enter a password more than once during a visit to the Site. In all cases in which we use cookies, we will not collect Personal Data except with your permission. On most web browsers, you will find a “help” section on the toolbar. Please refer to this section for information on how to receive notification when you are receiving a new cookie and how to turn cookies off. We recommend that you leave cookies turned on because they allow you to take advantage of some of the Service features.

Aggregated Personal Data: In an ongoing effort to better understand and serve the users of the Service, WaterGuru often conducts research on its customer demographics, interests and behavior based on the Personal Data and other information provided to us. This research may be compiled and analyzed on an aggregate basis, and WaterGuru may share this aggregate data with its affiliates, agents and business partners. This aggregate information does not identify you personally. WaterGuru may also disclose aggregated user statistics to describe our services to current and prospective business partners, and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.

WaterGuru and its affiliates may use this information to contact you in the future to tell you about services we believe will be of interest to you. If we do so, each marketing communication we send you will contain instructions permitting you to “opt-out” of receiving future marketing communications. Also, if at any time you wish not to receive any future marketing communications, or you wish to have your name deleted from our mailing lists, please contact us as indicated below. If WaterGuru intends on using any Personal Data in any manner that is not consistent with this Privacy Policy, you will be informed of such anticipated use before or at the time at which we collect the Personal Data.

Except as noted above, we will not share your information with any third party for direct marketing purposes.

Cookies and Other Tracking Mechanisms

We may use cookies in an effort to improve the quality of our Site. A cookie is a small data file that is sent to your computer when you first visit a website. Cookies usually include an identification number that is unique to the computer you are using. Such identifier can help us better understand our users and how they are using the website and the services. Cookies can improve the quality of service e.g. recognizing a user when he visits the site, displaying the site according to the user’s chosen user settings for language, and maintaining the security of the user’s account.

There are two types of cookies: session and persistent cookies.

  • Session Cookies. Session cookies exist only during an online session. They disappear from your computer when you close your browser or turn off your computer. We use session cookies to allow our systems to uniquely identify you during a session or while you are logged into the Site. This allows us to process your online transactions and requests and verify your identity, after you have logged in, as you move through our Site.
  • Persistent Cookies. Persistent cookies remain on your computer after you have closed your browser or turned off your computer. We use persistent cookies to track aggregate and statistical information about user activity.

If you prefer, however, you can reset your browser so that it refuses all cookies, or notifies you when a cookie is being sent.  Currently, our systems do not recognize browser “do-not-track” requests. You may disable certain tracking mechanisms as discussed in this section (e.g., by disabling cookies), but such disabling will impair use of the Site.

Abandoned Carts

The website uses cookies to help keep track of items you put into your shopping cart including when you have abandoned your cart and this information is used to determine when to send cart reminder messages via SMS.

We may directly collect analytics data, or use third-party analytics tools, such as Google Analytics to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Site. These tools collect information sent by your browser or mobile device, including the pages you visit and other information that assists us in improving the Sites. We collect and use this analytics information in aggregate form such that it cannot reasonably be manipulated to identify any particular individual user.  You have the opportunity to object the processing of data through Google Analytics by installing a Browser-Add-On available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout  You may obtain further information with respect to Google Analytics as well as their current Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en&gl=us.
